The Brown Shirts are Back

"There is a lot of disinformation about health insurance reform out there, spanning from control of personal finances to end of life care. These rumors often travel just below the surface via chain emails or through casual conversation. Since we can’t keep track of all of them here at the White House, we’re asking for your help. If you get an email or see something on the web about health insurance reform that seems fishy, send it to flag@whitehouse.gov."

Was this statement issued by a radical liberal support group or, perhaps an assembly of neurotic Democrats who in blind faith to their charismatic demogogue leader want to track down dissenting voices on anything this administration proposes? No. It is published on the White House website.

Ordinary citizens are now characterized as organized mobs when they question their elected representatives; Americans are held in contempt when they reject radical changes to their institutions, health care, and taxation. A president, who never stops campaigning, remains angry at his country and countrymen and manifests that anger by use of tactics and postings as seen above that are eerily similar to the Third Reich surveillance of its citizens. Where is the radical ACLU on this one? (That question is obviously rhetorical)

The ruling class is worried. They are in an all-out attack mode on American citizens. They have organized their efforts, abetted by the major media outlets, to characterize the lawful and peaceful assemblies of citizens as "angry mobs;" "rabid right-wing extremists;" "town hall hostility;" and "manufactured town-hall meetings." The radical left uses language to modify behaviors and beliefs. They are now referring to their intent to destroy our health care system as "Health Insurance Reform," replacing "National Health Care Reform." Why would they do that? Because, words matter and they want to create demons (insurance companies) while contemptuously translating this irrationality to the American public...the ignorant masses. Well, this time Americans are educating themselves as never before on the radical agenda of this administration. They are increasingly skeptical of what they hear from the White House. They object to the unwillingness of the ruling class to hear other opinions and alternatives on what constitutes "change." Americans are angered that the violent radicals of the 1960s, some now having access to this administration, lecture them on their peaceful dissent. Are these so-called "town hall" forums lively, loud, spirited, and emotion-packed? Yes, and rightfully so in the minds of the people who are engaging their elected representatives. But, they too are peaceful. Polls reflect that 56% of Americans do not want any changes to our private health care system, while 36% support its destruction. Do the lock-step politicians care? Obviously, not much.

When a government conducts surveillance on its citizens who are exercising their constitutional rights to free speech and petitioning their representatives, we should be worried.

Perhaps a good review of the health care bills is in order. A simple comparison of statements made by the proponents of these bills to the actual language in the bills will reveal many "fishy" things. It is then the duty of citizens to email the White House to inform the President of "disinformation" promulgated by radical liberals on healthcare reform, so that our leader can "keep track of them." And, while you are doing that, why not ask him to define what he thinks "status-quo" is. He seems to love the phrase.

In the meantime, be careful about your "casual conversations." You never know who is listening.

Are the Radical Liberals Crazy, or Are We?

Can you believe that Congress in following the direction of a community organizer is at the brink of destroying the greatest health care system on earth and replacing it with a government-managed monopoly which will dispossess you in managing your own health decisions? Americans in huge numbers do not want anything to do with this. They are rejecting this extremely radical big government takeover of a most personal side of their lives. In increasing numbers, Americans see this coercive act of government on its citizens as an attack on their liberty, and right to self-determination and privacy. Americans instinctively know that government is incompetent to effectively manage any systemic program. The proof is clearly seen in its disgraceful performance in managing Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid. Do you actually believe that this same government will demonstrate anything different if it successfully destroys our healthcare delivery system and struggles to manage its newly created government plan for 300 million Americans? Look at its performance in the so-called "Cash for Clunkers" Democrat boondoggle. It resulted in 136 pages of rules and regulations rendering it nearly impossible to cut a government check for $4,500. Americans are disgusted with the political machinations by Democrats in the legislative and executive branches, who rely on propagandistic talking points that grossly distort and mislead us on the true content and goal of this legislation: reparations to a select few by forcing total government control of health care on everyone; displace you, an individual, as the primary economic and political unit in our country with coercive collectivism; expansion of government power over you to slowly starve you of your liberty; and, to instill in the minds of our young the preposterous thought that we are all owed positive rights to food, clothes, house ownership, retirement security, and, medical care. These ignoble tenets of the liberal agenda erode the institutions that serve us and diminish us as free, independent, and self-reliant individuals.

Why are the radical liberals so effusive in their hate of their country, disrespectful of its citizens, and obsessed with using scapegoats whom they demonize to rationalize their psychotic decisions: hate big business; hate Wall Street; hate the banks; hate the coal and oil industry; hate the rich; and now, hate the insurance industry. Why so much hate? We can only deduce that the radical liberal has lots of personal psychological baggage. His childhood years may have been a traumatic experience characterized by emotional abandonment, indulgence without love, developmental deficits, rejection, and an array of other early phychological injuries. As an adult with power, he now has a distorted perception of the world, the distortion caused by his suffering at the hands of his caretakers. He projects his neurotic preoccupation with feelings of deprivation and exploitation onto his world today. He believes that Americans are generally incompetent to make their own choices and deserve only the liberty he sees appropriate in a society structured partially by him to give himself some relief from his internal pain.

Will you deliver to this truly troubled group of people your right to self-determination, your self-reliance, your personal responsibilities as a competent adult, your individualism and autonomy, and your liberty? Or, instead, will you stand for your principles and rights, your personal beliefs, your right to direct your own life, to voluntarily cooperate and not accept government coersion supporting collectivism, and not be labled a citizen-child who is incapable of caring for yourself? Will you demand of your government to leave you alone?!

Are we crazy to believe that ordered liberty should be a fundamental "deliverable" from a limited government that is respectful of us, our sovereignty, our property, and of our right to be defended against government intrusion, all envisioned by our very astute founders? Or are we quite reasonable and prudent in having these expectations of our government?

Who really knows what causes the madness of a person? We are all products of our experiences and learning processes. But, if that madness manifests itself in a body politic, then competent adults need to take political action by turning these neurotic people out of office. We need to rescue our civil society from the crazy people. I pray they get medical help, hopefully from our high quality, open and competitive private medical care delivery system.

Reply to Congressman Hodes' Concord Monitor Piece

Regarding Congressman Hodes' Washington Memo published in the July 4, 2009 Concord Monitor, I believe New Hampshire residents, and Americans at large, need considerable clarification on the many inaccuracies in his communique. He gave us his thoughts on the energy bill that recently passed the House on an extremely close vote. I contacted Mr. Hodes prior to his vote and encouraged him to vote against it. He voted for it.

Mr. Hodes thinks that the consequences of our ailing economy were created by Wall Street greed. He doesn't explain this allegation and fails to mention any of the real reasons for our current state of economic malaise: government interference in the housing market causing its collapse, and lack of oversight on financial institutions, to point out just a couple failures of government. The free market suffers when government meddles in it. Our nation's lawmakers need to learn from America's businessmen, and they should always avoid demonizing them. Politicians may not realize it but small businesses are the economic engine for our country.

Without referencing his sources, Mr. Hodes clearly fails to validate many preposterous claims. Many of the data he cites are dubious at best. He attempts to link what I assume he believes to be the future-condition of New Hampshire's climate and the perils it will present because of issues including global warming. He uses a list of fear-inducing examples to support his hypothesis. Pretty scary stuff, if it were true.

Do you believe Mr. Hodes? Is he correct in his assumptions about energy, the environment, and our economy? Have you read any differing opinions about the entire issue of man's affect on global environmental conditions, the direct and indirect impact the Cap-and-Trade bill will have on our economy, our ways of life, and our personal property and resources? Is this a bill that has a moral purpose, or is it in fact the opposite: nothing more than a huge new tax on Americans to satisfy the insatiable appetite our government has for money? Is global warming truly a crisis, or just another ideological platform for groups who have agendas that don't represent Americans' best interests? These are just a few of my questions.

I am not an expert on most issues raised in Mr. Hodes' piece. I assume he is not either. He claims, without any supporting evidence, that the Waxman-Markey bill will result in good things for America, and for you and your family. There are many credible opinions on the opposite side of that argument. For example, the Heritage Foundation's analysis of the bill "found that unemployment will increase by 2 million in 2035...Total Gross Domestic Product (GDP) loss by 2035 would be $9.4 trillion. The national debt would balloon as the economy slows, saddling a family of four with $114,915 of additional national debt. Families would also suffer, as the bill would slap the equivalent of a $4,609 tax on a family of four by 2035."

The same organization did exhaustive research on how the Waxman-Markey Climate Change bill would affect the states by Congressional district. New Hampshire, by their estimates, would suffer badly: our Gross State Product (GSP) would lose $1.3 trillion between 2012 and 2035 (this is the average economic destruction for the bill's 24 years); average personal income will drop $552 million (this is the reduction of consumer spending power); and, NH will lose over 6,000 jobs between 2012-2035.

With respect to climate change (and at a time the EPA quietly publishes its analysis showing that there will be no reduction in emissions by 2020 under this bill), the Heartland Institute (a 25-year-old national independent non-profit organization) contends that "global temperatures haven't increased in the past ten years..that scientists believe high levels of carbon dioxide will actually benefit wildlife and human health, and that an international survey of climate scientists found that fewer than half believed that climate science was sufficiently established to give policymakers a sound basis for passing laws." The Institute continues: "Despite these facts, politicians across the nation are taking measures that will destroy more than a million good American jobs and increase the average family's average energy bill by at least $1,500 a year. Yet, more than 31,000 American scientists say reducing greenhouse gas emissions isn't necessary, and may even be harmful to the environment and human health."

Dr. Richard Tol, principal researcher at the Institute for Environmental Studies at Virje Universiteit and Dr. Freeman Dyson, senior scientist at the Institute for Advanced Studies, Princeton, respectively called the fear of global warming "preposterous" and grossly exaggerated." Dr. John Christy, Alabama's State Climatologist and Distinguished Professor of Atmosperic Science at the University of Alabama used the non-governmental International Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) climate models to calculate that the climate bill standards would result in a "minuscule" 0.01 degrees Celsius reduction in the earth's temperature by 2100. If the entire world adopted the stringent standards, the effect would be less than 0.04 degrees Celsius by 2100, "so tiny we couldn't measure it."

Should we reduce our use of foreign oil? Yes. Should we lift our government's ban on exploration for and production of oil, natural gas, oil shale, coal, and nuclear to fuel our automobiles, heat and light our homes, to power our industries? Yes. Should we be good stewards of our environment and encourage the private sector to create new ways to satisfy our need for energy? Absolutely. Let's do all of it without scaring people about foliage, skiing, and becoming a rain forest. That is uncalled for and attempts to instill false beliefs based on who-knows-what kind of science. We deserve more from our elected representatives.

We are owed full disclosure on the provisions of this bill, not just political talking points. If enacted as written, will our government force us to adopt the California building codes for new house construction? Will we be subjected to a government-appointed agent assigned to our state whose duty to government is to enforce the provisions of this bill and to track people and industry to see how much CO2 we generate? Will this legislation adversely affect our liberty, our individualism, or our rights to personal property, our sovereignty? Is this bill constitutional?

I, for one, look at this so-called energy bill for what it is: a government ruse whose intended purpose having nothing to do with energy, the environment, or national security. To me, it is a draconian measure that empowers our government to impose massive new taxes on you, your family, and future generations. It would make you poorer and less free. It is a government's betrayal of its citizens. In my opinion, this bill is un-American. How ironic it is that Mr. Hodes' article was published on the 4th of July.

Independence Day Ruminations

I recently read a piece in The Easterner (Eastern Washington University's Student Newspaper). Although dated (2005), Justin Tuttle addressed a very contemporary issue: whether the U.S. Constitution is being taught in our nation's schools. At the time, a survey of 112,000 students, 800 administrators, and 8,000 teachers resulted in very disturbing findings. The questions addressed our freedoms guaranteed by our Constitution with emphasis on the First Amendment. Mr Tuttle opined: "The freedom of speech clause allows each individual to express their views through their voice or symbolic acts of speech no matter how unpopular the view is. There were a lower percentage of students (83 percent) than teachers (97 percent) and principals (99 percent) who believed that a person is allowed to express unpopular views." It is clear, as you read on, that students have a poor understanding of what our right to free speech means. In fact, many believe that government should approve news articles prior to publication! Read the news piece here: http://media.www.easterneronline.com/media/storage/paper916/news/2005/02/15/Opinion/Constitution.Not.Being.Taught.At.School-2369036.shtml

With certainty, there are many wonderful teachers across our great country. They accomplish remarkable things for our children every day. However, the vast pool of educators also includes many who would use their positions of trust to shape the minds of students to replicate their twisted views on this great republic, including the undermining of our national principles as expressed in our Constitution. Certainly one of the most important documents ever written, our Constitution, and a good dose of American history, both deserve much classroom time and study. If you're inclined, read the article taken from The American Thinker, "Remembering What the Declaration of Independence is Not."

http://www.americanthinker.com/2009/07/remembering_what_the_declarati_1.html

On this 4th of July, give some thought to the freedoms you enjoy as an American. Think about the many sacrifices that have been made to guarantee your rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

Enjoy this version of "God Bless the USA." TURN IT UP!!!

Let Them Eat Cake

Bloomberg reports in a July2, 2009 piece that our economy continues to tank. They report a 9.5% unemployment rate, the highest since 1983. It will probably reach 10% by the end of the year. Our country has lost 6.5 million jobs, the biggest loss post-WWII. People are reflecting their fear of government intrusion into their lives by keeping their money. Savings rates "surged to a 15 year high in May." Weekly earnings are down. There has been a systematic destruction of your wealth as a consequence of government incompetence. It has resulted in the collapse of the housing market, and an outright assault on the investment and business industries. Cap and Trade and Government Healthcare are at our doorsteps and if the liberals have their way, you and future generations will be irrevocably harmed...all due to the acts of a tyrannical government.

It's interesting to note that more than 85% of Americans are satisfied with the present health delivery system. Also, it is only less than 2% of people who do not have health insurance for a period greater than two years. Are you going to allow shameful politicians to interfere with your healthcare system, completely dismantling it at the expense of 98% of Americans? How long will you tolerate government mis-information and propaganda and, yes, outright lies foisted upon honest and hard-working Americans in order to accomplish a twisted and irrational ideological agenda?

At a time when people are feeling the direct affects of an economy in a deep recession and who are tightening their belts just to make ends meet and to provide for their children, what are our elected officials doing? Well, they are travelling on your dime. The hypocrisy of these people is unimaginable and completely incongruent with the times we live in....They studied global warming in the Galapagos Islands (the trip included family members of course); learned more about homeland security while in Brazil, Argentina, Peru, and Panama; and enjoyed days in the United Kingdom, Germany, Australia, Switzerland, Italy (where Nancy Pelosi and "a delegation of Democrat lawmakers...spent eight days...spending almost $58,000" of your tax dollars on hotels and meals.

This is obscene! Immoral! Unconscionable! Detestable! Hypocritical!

The elitists are hard at work shaping their vision of the way we should live our lives. It, of course, is not the way they will live their lives. They are largely the same people who will put a wedge between you and your doctor, tell you what kind of car you will drive, how you will light and heat your house, prescribe how you will build your house (they are leaning toward the California building standard..yes, the state run by a Politburo and now bankrupt), and control the foods you will eat. Unfortunately, those elitists comprise our Congress and Executive Branch. Doesn't all this make you feel proud to pay your taxes (at least the 48% of Americans who are the remainder now paying taxes)?

This "Let them eat cake" attitude will hopefully be the demise of these reprehensible people during the 2010 elections.

Economic Impact of Cap and Trade

Do you know the economic impact of the cap and trade bill which was narrowly passed by the U.S. House of Representatives? According to The Heritage Foundation:

"An analysis of the Waxman-Markey bill (as reported out of the House Committee on Energy and Commerce) by The Heritage Foundation found that unemployment will increase by nearly 2 million in 2012, the first year of the program, and reach nearly 2.5 million in 2035, the last year of the analysis. Total GDP loss by 2035 would be $9.4 trillion. The national debt would balloon as the economy slowed, saddling a family of four with $114,915 of additional national debt. Families would also suffer, as the bill would slap the equivalent of a $4,609 tax on a family of four by 2035."

Are you prepared to buy into this knowing the net result on our environment is infinitesimal, or basically zero? Will you hold your Congressman accountable for supporting this completely un-American bill? Are you willing to speak up for your rights and your liberty, and to now start a political movement to cast anyone who voted for this bill out of Congress? Do you support those who believe in the supremacy of the state, or will you stand proudly for your liberty and your individual freedoms; and, send the message loudly and clearly that you want the politicians to get out of your life and to adhere to their oath to perform their duties constitutionally?

http://www.heritage.org/Research/EnergyandEnvironment/upload/wm2504_table1.pdf

Review the referenced table. You might be concerned about what will become a huge encroachment on your way of life and standard of living if this bill is enacted.

Hyper-Inflation

Have you given any thought to the economic consequences of our government's performance (or interference) on dealing with this recession? Have you contemplated the future value of your resources, the value of your money, or your children's' fate at the hands of a clearly fiscally-out-of-control government that demonstrates to us every day its contempt for you, your children, and grandchildren? Do you believe, like many do, that hyper-inflation will destroy your paycheck, your savings, and your retirement (including Social Security)? What happens to a fiat currency (created and printed by government...our dollar) when it loses its "reserve" status in the world of international currency? Will your money have less purchasing power than it does today?

Central banks (ours is the Fed) control our fate worldwide. The Fed decides what you pay for your house, your car, student loans, what you will earn on your investments, and the value of your money. It is known for manipulating our economy for the purpose of its goal to seize property, acquire businesses, and to control our way of life.

I am not conspiratorially inclined, but I believe that our government, by its reckless monetary policies, has put us in a dangerous position.

Again, this is only my opinion. Do your own research.

Watch the documentary. Its creators may have motives beyond the message, but, who knows, they may be dead on!

A Tyrannical Congress?

After seeing the results of the U.S. House of Representatives vote on the American Clean Energy and Security Act of 2009, a valid question comes to mind: Are radical liberals completely out of their minds? Only irrational people could cast an unconstitutional vote that clearly encroaches on individual sovereignty and liberty. Only irrational legislators would put the state before the people by use of coercive enforcement measures embedded in radical legislation that will destroy jobs, cause pain by way of a huge tax transfer to all Americans thereby increasing the cost of groceries, heating and lighting homes, commuting to work, and interfering with private property rights. And, only irrational people would support the systematic destruction of our energy delivery infrastructure while demanding that Americans pay for it. This is un-American by any standard!

At some point, Americans will have to start expressing opinions on the undesirable effect that radical liberalism has on both individual liberty and social stability. If not, the nefarious radical liberal agenda will continue to erode the rights of everyone, and ultimately collapse the basic foundations of a mature, civil society.

Speak up! Speak up now! Hold those who work against the rights of Americans accountable for their actions by voting them out of office. Support only the candidates who swear to represent the peoples' interests, who will strictly adhere to the constitution, and those who see government as limited and supportive of conditions that secure everyone's right to run his or her own life.

A tyrannical Congress or a truly representative body? You be the judge.

Government and Media Propaganda

As our nation approaches 10% unemployment and we hear mounting criticisms from many mayors who are now voicing their disapproval of our central government's inability to get "stimulus" money to them, what do you hear from or read in the major media outlets? For that matter, what do you hear from our leader? Not much on both accounts. Rather than doing in-depth investigative reports on the pain and suffering Americans are experiencing due to what I believe to be a government-induced state of malaise, the daily demise of our business and manufacturing industries, or positing objective prognostics on the sad future-state awaiting our children and grandchildren: historically deplorable conditions characterized by the consequences of the excesses of today's politicians...systematic destruction of the time-honored institutions of our society; a weakened and re-structured economy plagued by immense debt and probable hyper-inflation to point out a couple things, what do the media give us? Well, I see really "hard journalism" by way of tailgate parties to hamburger joints and dates with the wife to NYC...dinner and a play. Do you see the same thing, or am I somewhat naive? I see twisted and gross misinformation of what I believe to be intentional manipulation of the truth; I see a great divide between what Americans really believe and what these so-called journalists and government spokesmen report.

We are still free (at this writing) to both express ourselves and select our sources of information. Am I the only one who has given up on giving a modicum of credibility to the major commercial television networks and respect for our newspaper? Shouldn't they be inherently skeptical of government and its agents? Should they accept the ideological propaganda promulgated by government spokespersons and politicians, or should they reject it, or at least challenge it on behalf of the public they serve? Are they in bed with the people they report on? Is their political reporting situational depending on the ideological beliefs of reporters, editors, and the ubiquitous government agent? Are they representing and advancing the "party's" beliefs, hoping to re-shape your thinking? Am I being naive again?

I now get my information from the internet. Or, better yet, I go to the source and ask questions or listen to their remarks firsthand where I can. Politicians and journalists are simply flesh and blood, like you and me. They have no more "real" insight into any of the great issues of the day than we have. They are surrounded by advisors, obsessed with their positions and status, and very well know the power of the press. We have our intellect, our convictions and beliefs, and the power of the vote.

It is our duty to demand more truthfulness and integrity from everyone reporting the news, whether it is the government propagandist or the media zealots we have to painfully endure.

What do you think?

On Individualism

Think about your personal freedoms: life, liberty, property, economic independence, self-reliance, your sovereignty...to mention a few. Now, give some thought to whether government is serving your best interest by overtly and consistently demonstrating its fervor to uphold these so-called "unalienable" rights. Is it adhering to its constitutional duties as a body politic by willing to sacrifice everything to ensure no violation of your rights?

The individual is the primary engine that both creates and drives all aspects of our civil society. If you accept this basic precept, then it logically follows that any policy decision that has been borne by government must always give first importance to the individual, not to a "collective" group, and certainly never to government. In his book "The Liberal Mind," Dr. Rossiter states: "The only legitimate function of government is to foster the lives of citizens by protecting their rights as individuals, not as members of a class or group; no collective cause should be allowed to override those rights." He contends that the "individual, and not a group or collective, must be regarded as the ultimate political unit...and since any rule of government prescribes what individuals must do or not do...it is [then] the individual that must be the primary subject and object of policy decisions, whether they are made in economic, social or political realms. Without this emphasis, the individual may be denied his most fundamental right to life, liberty, property, and the pursuit of happiness. Without these rights he may become, as one writer put it, 'absorbed into the masses.'"

If we accept Dr. Rossiter's argument, then should we deduce that we are at a dangerous place that is counter-intuitive to the basic principles of the charter politicians swear to uphold, our Constitution? Or are politicians now knowingly violating the basic rights of man by putting citizens in convenient "collectivized" compartments?

You be the judge. Is your government serving you, an individual, or are you serving your government as part of a collective group?

Government Health Care versus Individual Liberty

Are the "statists" about to destroy the best health care system on earth? Will you sacrifice more of your individual liberty by conferring decisions about your health care to faceless and mindless bureaucrats? Will you willingly accept "socialized" medicine (yes, that means the government owns it) without uttering a word of objection? Will you be satisfied with medical rationing, loss of services and sub-standard health care? Are you prepared to offer-up by way of increased taxation on you and your family more than two trillion dollars over the next decade to pay for government health care?

Ideologues seem to be laying the ground-work to re-shape our civil society into a distorted and unrepresentative transmogrification of what will soon become a distant memory of a great medical delivery system. These politicians ignore the will of the people and thereby violate their oaths of office while continuing to intentionally manipulate Americans at every opportunity.

Government, although absolutely necessary, should be limited and in no way should be the source of many of our problems. Do you agree?
